Marvel's Spider-Man 2 features a variety of engaging side activities that allow players to explore New York City while furthering Peter Parker's scientific legacy. Among these activities are the Emily-May Foundation (EMF) Experiments, which offer unique mini-games focused on plant science, energy, and bee drone technology. Completing these quests rewards players with valuable crafting resources, experience points, and exclusive suits.

Unlocking the Emily-May Foundation Missions

Players can access the EMF Experiments early in the campaign after completing the main story quest titled Healing the World. Once unlocked, icons representing various research tasks will appear across different districts in New York. All of these specific scientific challenges must be completed exclusively while playing as Peter Parker.

Finding each station requires exploring specific boroughs across the expansive map. While eight experiments are available immediately, the ninth mission remains hidden until you finish the main campaign. This design encourages players to revisit the open world after the credits roll to finalize their research efforts.

Key Locations Across New York City

The initial eight experiments are spread across several distinct neighborhoods including Central Park, Chinatown, Hell's Kitchen, and Downtown Brooklyn. For instance, players will pilot Bee Drones in Central Park and Prospect Park to test environmental tracking systems. Energy challenges take place in locations like Brooklyn Heights and Central Park, where players ride bikes and deploy wind turbines.

Plant Science research tasks are situated in Little Tokyo, Portside, and Two Bridges. These quests require synthesizing plant attributes through molecular splicing puzzles and recovering stolen botanical specimens. The final experiment unlocks in Astoria at Peter's garage once all prior research tasks have been resolved.

In-Game Rewards and Exclusive Unlocks

Completing each standard EMF Experiment yields valuable crafting resources and character experience. Players earn 700 Experience Points alongside 140 Tech Parts and 3 Rare Tech Parts per task. These materials are essential for upgrading suit tech, enhancing gadgets, and boosting combat capabilities.

Finishing the ninth and final foundation task provides a massive overall payout for dedicated players. You will receive 1,000 XP, 200 Tech Parts, and the prestigious Foundational Trophy. Most importantly, completing the entire storyline unlocks Peter's Life Story Suit as an exclusive cosmetic reward.
